AIRFORCE SCHOOL, BHUJ REPORT ON CULINARY COMPETITION: 24 JUN 20

Air Force School, Bhuj organised a culinary competition on 24 JUN 20. The venue for students was at their respective homes as the competition was online because of lock down due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The students were enthusiastic for participation as this competition was being conducted for first time at home. They sent their recipes and participation in the group with their pictures. The competition was conducted with a view to create awareness about the nutritional value of food and to encourage the students to stay away from the junk food.

Through this activity the students learnt culinary skills, appreciating the hard work put into the cooking. The aim of the activity was also to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interest.

The students had a platter to display their culinary skills in this competition. The students had participated in great number and had prepared a variety of food items e.g. Fruit Salad, Vegetable Sandwich, Rainbow Oats, Dry Fruit Balls, Mango Smoothie & Veg Cake etc. They had taken utmost care in maintaining hygiene while preparation of food items. The presentation of the food items was well defined. It was a great sight to look at the junior chefs of school, explained the recipe and presented a very delicious and palatable food items.

We at school believe that cooking is not just making food but learning reading, time skills, experiencing healthy food choices, building confidence and creativity enhancing communication and deepening connections with each other.
