NATIONAL READING DAY CELEBRATION
We have been told many time that reading at least one chapter of a book a day will enhance our knowledge and vocabulary. We have many good authors and there is no dearth of topics from which to choose from, and almost every street corner has a book store. But among stores there are also libraries for which on June 19 we celebrate National Reading Day, not for the books, but for P.N. Panicker, a teacher from Kerala, who kick-started the Library Movement.
The students of Air Force School, Bhuj of grade V to IX had an enjoyable day as they celebrated “Reading Day” on 19th June, 2020 in memory of P. N. Panicker. Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light, thus the students got an opportunity to participate in various activities to inculcate the habit of reading. To promote this habit, the language teachers, Mrs. Neena, Mrs. Chandresh and Mrs. Chand arranged various activities like Article writing, Poster making activities based on Current affair, reading session, slogan writing and many more.
