AFWAA WORKSHOP ON RESPONSIBLE USAGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media isn’t a purely negative or positive force—it all depends on how you use it. So if
you want it to hold a positive, or at least a neutral place in your life, it’s on you to take
measures to use social media responsibly. Like any technology, social media is a neutral
tool—one that can be used effectively, as well as one that can be abused. The problem is too
many people are using these tools irresponsibly. It’s time we all start learning how to use
these platforms in a healthier way.
Online workshop was conducted through Google meet. Workshop started with the opening
address by the Resource person Sqn Ldr Akansha who deliberated on the positives and
negatives of social media networks like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and online video
games. The workshop also sensitised students about the deleterious effects of smart phone
addiction on their education and extracurricular activities. The workshop will help students
decode the various facets of social media and also explain them ‘how much information to
share online to how to deal with cyber threats’.
