INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION
The International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. However, this year celebrations at Air Force School Bhuj resorted to perform virtual yoga due to COVID-19 by following campaign “‘Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family” started by the Ministry of Ayush.
The school has organized a virtual meet for conducting Yoga session on 21 Jun 2020 and link to join the meet was shared to all the teachers and students. As the session began, Mrs Shalini Kaistha (Teacher-in-charge) welcomed the Yoga Instructor Mrs Pawan Kanwar, teachers, students and parents. She briefed the participants about the sequence of events planned for session.
Sports Teacher Mrs Vanitha conducted warm up exercises. Subsequently, Yoga Instructor continued the session with different yoga postures like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, Bhujangasana, Pawana Muktaasana, finally ended with Pranayama and meditation. She explained importance of each posture and the way it is expected to be performed. She emphasized to make yoga a day routine to stay fit. The celebration concluded with synchronized recitation of shlokas and speech by MrsShalini Kaistha. She encouraged students and all other participants to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.
