Report on story writing competition
Story writing competition intends to help the students start to form their ideas for potential stories. The activity provides the students with a blank page to freely develop story ideas through text and illustration. This competition helps the students to develop their creative writing skills and boost confidence each time they pick up a pen.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 refocuses on the ideal path from Learn-ToRead to Read-To-Learn. As the languages are to be taught in an enjoyable and interactive style, with plenty of vibrant and proactive conversations, early reading and subsequent writing, CBSE announced the CBSE Budding Authors Programme in partnership with Central Square Foundation, Pratham Books’ StoryWeaver and National Book Trust. The CBSE Budding Authors Programme aimed to provide students a platform to engage in reading different types of stories and learning to write effectively. As students write and submit short stories under this programme, they would have an opportunity to express their creativity and get a chance to see them published.
Air Force School Bhuj conducted story writing competition for students of classes VI to X on 7 Sep 22. The students were allowed to submit their stories in Hindi or English in the following three categories: Category I was for classes V- VI ( 500- 600 words). The topics were Adventure, Love (for pets, nature, school), Heroes around us and Science. Category II was for classes VII- VIII ( 600- 900 words). The topics were : When I (A theme that made you fantasize or imagine about a certain pont of time), Weird and whacky, Kindness and self confidence. Category III was for classes IX- X ( 1000- 1500 words). The topics were : War and Peace, Fantasy and The (not so distant) future.
All the students of class VI to X enthusiastically participated in the story writing competition and enjoyed writing on the topics allotted to them.
