AIR FORCE SCHOOL BHUJ REPORT ON YOGA DAY

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world annually on June 21 since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.[1]Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in ancient India.[2] The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his UN address in 2014, had suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.

Air Force School Bhuj celebrated Yoga day on 21 June 23. All the students and teachers enthusiastically participated in it. Students were ready in house uniform while teachers were dressed in white, all ready with their yoga mats to celebrate international yoga day. First, Arjan house explained the importance of yoga depicting a few yoga poses, then our coach Abdul sir and Vanita ma’am conducted yoga sessions. They demonstrated various yoga poses explaining their importance and care to be taken while performing them. All the students and teachers did yoga according to their guidance.

It was followed by pranayams such as kapal bhati, anuloma viloma and brahmri.

Yoga has a good effect on mind and body. Everyone who participated was motivated to carry out yoga as a form of life. Thus, yoga day was successfully conducted in the school.
